[...] When the third reading of the Goverment of India Bill was taking place in the House of Commons it was reported in the papers here that the Government had retored the powers of the High Courts by accepting a friendly amendment. [...] The fact that a decree had already become barred at the time of the amendment or that the amendment of a decree is merely a formal one and wholly unnecessary are matters to be dealt with by the Court to which the application for amendment is made; but once a decree is amended a period of three years' limitation is given starting frothe date of the amendment of the dcree.
