The objection taken by the Ministry of the Orissa Government to the selection by the Government of India of a member of the Indian Civil Service who was serving as a Revenue Officer under the Ministry to officiate as Governor of Orissa when Sir John Hubback the permanent Governor would proceed on leave and the cancellation of the proposed arrangement by the Goverment of India and the Secret [...] As the objection of the Ministry was upheld by the Government of India and the Secretary of State for India on account Of the Ministry having decided to resign and appeal to the electorate the convention may be said to be more fareaching in its effect than its applicability to the present case. [...] With regard to the question of the union of Northern Irland with the Irish Free State the Premier has recently declared that it is a question of self-determination of the former and not for the Crown. [...] This is contrary to the provisions of the League of Nations for the protection of the interests of the minority communities in the smaller states of Central Europe. [...] How the devolution of the property would take place in case of the death of any one of the widows when the estate vested in a widow a predeceased son's widow and the widow of the predeceased son of a predeceaed son or in similar cases is to be defnitely enacted.
