At the same time we cannot help obsering that the claims of the local Bar to apointments to the Bench ought not to be passed over.except for the strongest of reasons. [...] But it must not be forgotten that generally speaking one of the main-springs of paintaking and honourable work at the Bar is the hope of judicial preferment even in those to whom the emolument can be no attraction and that one of the most effetive means of calling forth meritorious work from the Bar is to reward such apirations in those who are truly worthy. [...] If he is invested with the powers as a Court the necessary implication is that the jurisdition of the Court is enlarged and its decsion is subject to all the incidents of such jurisdiction. [...] In a lease of the former class the registered istrument takes the place of the delivery of possession by reason of a specific provision in the statute. [...] 11 of the Pensions Act is applicable to the commuted portion as well as the ucommuted portion of the pension and the language of sec.
