On the commencement of the new term we offer our Bejoya greetings to our suscribers and readers to the Hon'ble Judges and the officers of the Court and to everone connected with the profession of law. [...] But there is an iportant reservation made by the majority apparently assented to by the Chief Justice that their decision would not cover a ease arising after the expiry of the Ordinance in which the validity of any of the prOrdinance detention orders might come to be questioned. [...] As regards the particular cases before the Court the majority proceed on the general ground that in the absence of a delegation of power under sec. [...] Porter's affdavit is that the case was never put up even before the Home Minister." The Ctief Justice on the other hand states that the deduction he draws from the whole evidence is that the procedure adopted is "consisent with the literal accuracy of the recital namely that the Governor satisfied himself personally before the order was made." This might be only a difference in the apr [...] An application was made to the District Judge for the assignment of a surety bond and the Judge passed the order "the prayer is allowed " Held—That the order amounted to an assignment of the bond even though there was no assignment in writing signed by the District Judge.
