The mistake attracted the attention of one of their Lordships who were parties to the judgment and we undestand the necessary correctionehas already been made in the original. [...] In both cases there were tins of foodstuff apparently of Australian manfacture bearing the mark “ D Arrow D.” In the earlier case an officer in charge of a Supply Depot` in Calcutta gave evidence that such stores Were not obtainable in the market and goods hearing the particular mark were received from Various countries Solely for the use of the miltary and they were used only for the mi [...] Justice Ormond observed as follows: In the present case the absence of any explantion by the accused and the fact that the tins had already this mark obliterated and the cicumstances generally of the case are sufficient I think; to show both that these stores were 27Itzviii THE CALCUTTA WEEKLY NOTES. [...] The Chief Magistrate in the earlier case had stated that the very fact that the accused accepted vouchers which contained no mention of the goods sold showed that the accused knew that they were buying something which could not legally be bought.
