It is said that the Government decided from the very beginning to treat most of the men with clemency and generosity and to extend clemency to the great majority of the remainder. [...] Lord Pethick-Lawrence Secretary of State for India announced in the House of Lords the other day that a parliamentary delegation would scion be coming to India to meet leading Indian political personalities to learn their own views at first hand." The idea seems to be that this goodwill visit would facilitate the adoption of steps to promote " early realisation of full selgovernment in Indi [...] He executed a bond containing the stipulation that as long as he continued to work in the firm the money was not to be demanded back by the lanlord but if he refused to work the money was to be paid back with interest from the date of such refusal. [...] The labourer left the service of the landlord and the landlord brought a suit to enforce payment of the money : Held (Full Bench : LEACH C. J. WADSWORTH and PATANJALI SASTRI JJ.)—That the bond was not a slavery bond and was enforceable. [...] 151 of the Civil Procedure Code does nci confer any power upon the Court but it only in d:cates that there is a power to make such orders as may be necessary for the ends of justice or to prevent an abuse of the process of the Court.
