He was pehaps the last of the titans the last reprsentative of that race of giants who wored indefatigably to build the India that we see to-day. [...] As has so often been the case in recent months it is the melancholy duty of the editor of this journal not only to place on record the loss the country has suffered by the death of one after another of modern India’s architects but also to recall sorrowfully his own long association with nearly all of them. [...] For a long time he worked virtually single-handed and the Benares Hindu University with its many magnficent edifices will continue to be his monument not merely in bricks and mortar but as a living institution turning out of its portals not mere scholars and men of affairs but patriots imbibing from Pandit Malaviya's example and ideals the spirit of service and sacrifice in the cause of the [...] Sir Patrick Spens Chairman of the Cacutta Disturbances " Inquiry Commision has announced that the proceedings of the Commission will be held in camera for a month and hence will be closed to the' press and to the general public. [...] And now comes this ban on the admission of the public and also of the press to the sittings of the Commission.
