Now that the establishment of a separate High Court for Assam is a matter of certainty and a matter also perhaps of a few months we offer our felicitations to the tribunal that is going to be set up. Notwithstanding the setting up of the two independent Dominions of India and Pakistan and the creation of new Provinces' by the Indian Independence Act 1947:- (1) all proceedings pending immediately before the appointed day.in any of the Special Tribunals specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order shall be contnued in that Tribunal as if the said Act had not been passed and that [...] 4. Notwithstanding the 'creation of cetain new Provinces and the transfer cf cetail: territories from the Province of Assam to the Province of East Bengal by the Idian Independence Act 1947:— (1) all proceedings pending immediately before the appointed clay in any Civil or Criminal Court (other than a High Court) in the Province of Bengal the Punjab or Assam shall be continued in that [...] the purposes of the said proceedings all the jurisdiction and powers which it had imediately before the appointed day; (2) any appeal or application for revsion in respect of any proceedings so pend-.ing in any such Court shall lie in the Court which would have appellate or as the case may be revisional jurisdiction over that Court if the proceeding were instituted in that Court after the [...] The High Court in Lahore The High Court in Bombay; The High Court in Bombay.
