This is the inevitable result of the change in the political dispensation of our country since the transfer of power to Indian hands. [...] Smith who was the Secretary to the Hon'ble the Chief Justice of Bengal has been appoined the Deputy Registrar of the Calcutta High Court in the place of Mr. [...] In this connection we would like to draw the attention of the Hon'ble the Chief Justice to the claims of the Advocates of the Appellate Side to the higher posts in the High Court Office. [...] Having regard to general state of uneployment in the profession and particularly to the dearth of work at the present time it would be a source of great relief if these appointments are thrown open to the members of the profession. [...] of the country when people rightly or wrongly are coming away from East Bengal and apprehension in the mind of the Hindu population still exists it would operate gravely to the prejudice of the Hindu Advocates who have migrated to Dacca if they.are required to come to a decision in so short a time within which the political situation is not likely to settle down.
