[...] In the three instances cited it appears the Judges of the Court wanted to have the opinion of the Advocate-General in matters icontroversy between private individuals. [...] It may be that in those days opinions of the lawyers of the Company were taken on matters of law because possibly the Judges of the Court of Requests were not trained lawyers.
