He has taken gracefully to the duties of his office and it was quite a treat in spite of a certain irony implicit therein to hear of Rajaji one of Mahatma Gandhi’s closest disciples and a doughty champion of the simple life playing host as the Indian Union’s Acting Governor-General to a banquet and dancing to follow in celebrtion of the wedding of Princess Elizabeth. [...] It ratified with a few minor modifications the findings of a sucommittee appointed to draft the constittion of the Congress in the new set-up of the country to-day. [...] Mention must first of all be made of the decision that the activities of the Cogress have to be confined to the territorial limits of the Indian Union. [...] In these hard days when all-round prgress of the persons engaged in various phases of life is the motto and order of the clay the plight of persons engaged in the legal profession specially the juniors rmains as yet unnoticed and uncared for. [...] When the value of money has decreased to a considerable extent the schedule of fees specified at the time of making the rules mentioned above does not fit in with the present circumstances at all and hence it is warranted that the authorities cocerned should take pains to revise and modify the said rate of fees of pleaders to an up-to-date standard.
