The Judcial Minister in his explanation said that he had requested his Secretary to ascetain confidentially the views of the Ditrict Magistrate and the District judge of 24-Pargonas and also the views of the PreSident of the Alipore Bar Library and of the Government Pleader of Alipore as tO the best person fitted for the post. [...] Would he have been right in rjectitg the recommendations of officers like the District Magistrate and the District Judgle or would he have been justified in diremitting the views of the President of the alipore Bar Library or of the Goverment Pleader of Alipore? [...] Lift In our editorial article under discussion we suggested an amendment of the Goernment of India Act 1935 for the pupose of investing the Speaker of the Prvincial Assembly with powers to deal with members who by shouting and noisy iterruptions hold up the progress of the business of the House and defy the Speaker if he attempts to restore order. [...] 12 deprived a tenant of the pricipal benefits of the Act conferred by the opening paragraph of the section in case the tenant sub-let the premises without the consent in writing of the landlord. [...] Under the law subtenancy was not so long laful except under stringent circumstances and hence by this enactment the position of the sub-tenants of the less period is not in any way improved if the period as aforsaid does not refer to the tenant of the first degree without any reference to the period of sub-letting.
