Since the report of the Federal Court the highest Judicial body in India is the basis of the decision of the Head of the Indian Executive we must have faith in the propriety and the justice of the action and must read in it a real desire on the part of the Goverment to preserve the sanctity of the judiciary in the country. [...] In future India it is the judiciary which will be epected to play the role of sentinels and keep wide awake so that the liberty of the people may not be invaded : its eternal vigilance will be the guarantee of the liberty of the subject. [...] 193 it provides inter alia that the judges of the High Court and the Supreme_ Court may he removed by the President of the Republic on a joint address of the two Houses of the Legislature being presented to him on grounds of proved misbehaviour or incapacity The independence of the judiciary is thus welsecured and that is quite in keeping with the fitness of things. [...] Freedom has of course come in the long run and power that was in the hands of the British has as a matter of fact passed on to the hands of the leaders of the Indian National Congress the accrdited organisation of India but the question remains " has the appalling distress of thg starving millions of this country actually disappeared although by now our national rule is about two years [...] The woman having lodged a complaint against the father the latter moved the High Court to quash the proceedings on the ground that prinui facie the contents of the letter did not constitute an offence under sec.
