It is only in the fitness of things that in the land of the Buddha and of Asoka a great politcal leader like Mahatnia Gandhi should in defiance of twentieth-century conditions proclaim without equivocation his allegiance to the doctrine of Ahimsa. [...] It appears that we have acquired in London a 'building at the cost of 160 000 without the consent of the Standing Finance Committee of the Central Legislature in Oder to accommodate our numerous delegtions to.conferences abroad; 'this in spite of our having the more than commodious. [...] The Prime Minister was compelled to amit that it was unfortunate " for the Minister to the Vatican to have said in the papal presence that " it did not matter much if all the copies of the Gita were burnt so long. [...] The subject-matter of the Amending Act of 1943 namely providing appeals in cetain criminal cases is a matter included in the Code of Criminal Procedure and is icluded within the words " criminal procdure " or at any rate the words " all matters included in the Code of Criminal Procdure at the date of the passing of this Act " in entry No. [...] The attitude of a Provincial Government in impugning a piece of legislation passed by the Central Legislature at the desire of and with the consent of all the Provincial Governments adversely commented on.
