South Africa :—The Industrial Concilition Act of 1937 outlaws strike by African workers." These are some of the allegations made by the World Federation of Trade Unions to the tenth session of the U. N. Economic and Social Council. [...] The Working Conunittee has lately decided to.expel 19 " rebel " members of the U. P. Legislative Assembly on the ground of idiscipline ; the " rebels " however have sought to heap coals of fire on the 'Work - ing Committee'S head by averring that they and not the Working Committee were really loyal to the ideals and election pledges of Congress and therefore far from resigning their seats [...] The oject of the book has been to set out in dtail the Acts Rules Notifications and Judcial decisions relating to Social Insurance and the corresponding provisions of Enlish Acts and the relevant English decisions have also been included. [...] The book is divided into two parts and while the first part contains the Act and rules with the Bengali Appendix the second part contains some of the orders and rules relating to food grains. [...] A person receiving stolen property with the intention of returning it to the police does not commit the offence of " receiving stolen property " but if thereafter he changes his mind and misappropriates the property he commits the offence of " steaing " but not the other offence.
