“ Such criticism even including insistent dmands for an effort to solve diffeences between the United States and the Soviet Union seems to be regarded as evdence of disloyalty.” It is a serious rflection on the state of things in the United States when lawyers whose very profesion behoves them to uphold the letter and the spirit of the laws that sustain society are driven to testi [...] First the pricipal in the course of and for the purpose of his trade or business entered into a cotract with thecontractor and secondly that the work the subject-matter of the contract with the contractor was work which ordnarily formed the whole or part of the trade or business of the principal. [...] The head office however is under an obligation to accept the credit of its branch and if a cheque which is drawn on a branch and is sent thereto by the Head Office on Lchalf of its customer is honoured by the branch and the amount debited to the cutomer and credited to the head office the latter must be deemed to have collected the cheque in the sense that they have received the equivalent of [...] The death of the co-parcener does not cause a seveance of the jointness of the family which continues to remain joint and his widow is only a member of the joint family with certain special rights conferred by the Hindu Women's Rights to Property Act. [...] Accordingly according to the ordinary icidents of a Mitakshara joint family the karta represents the family in the managment of its affairs and is not liable to reder account ' of the management to the widow as he was not liable to her husband except of course in special circumstances of fraud misappropriation etc.
