At the time of his death he vas a Professor of Law of the Surendra Nath College bsides being the Editor of the Labour Appeal Cases which reports the decisions of the Labour Appellate Tribunal of India. [...] I came into very close contact with him when he joined me on the Cacutta Weekly Notes during the last year of my service on the staff of that paper and then I came to see more closely what I had admired formerly from a distance namely the keenness of his intellect the -unusual accuracy of his knowledge and the precision of the language in which he wrote arid all that along with a radiating [...] I recall rather the place he filled in this Court and in the sciety of the members of the legal profession. [...] Although as I have said he was not before the Courts too often nevertheless the Court derives sense of strength from the presence of such men at the Bar because they confer a status and a distinction on the profession which is associated with the Court and on which the Court leans for its everyday work. [...] In the concluding paragraph at p. lxxxvi of the Notes to the current volume the quotation is to be read: "Members of the Bar it is sad to reflect" for what appears therein.
