The summary disposal of cases in Chambers and the hearing of appeals by one Judge where as in the Punjab no appeal from the decisions of Judges sitting singly is provided for serve to shake the confidence of the public in the highest tribunal in the land. [...] In Chenapatnam v. Tadakmalla at pa 86 a mortgage and a lease evefe executed the same day the mortgagor being the lessor and the mortgagee the wife of the lessee ; and it was stipulated in the mortgage bond that the interest due on the bond was to be satisfied by the husband paying the rent's to the wife. [...] Held that that was not so because the consideration wits the withdrawal by Martingell of the letter of coplaint and his forbearance in the matter of the debtor as a member of the Club.
