The argument that the cancellation of the prvision in the Code of Criminal Procedure for rcording confessions will remove one of the principal incentives that the police have of ill-treating acused persons and that it will compel the police to rely upon evidence and the pursuit of clues in place of the confession of the accused as a means of securing the conviction of the guilty does not [...] The Plaintiff sued for a declaration that he was etitled to the office of Mutwalli of a certain wakf prperty and for the possession of the same by the ejecment of the Defendant. [...] The Preface which is perhaps the moss interesting part of the work from a historical point of view traces the growth of the Court from the early days of the East India Company. [...] Held that the Judge ought to have allowed interest on the entire amount of the mesne profits for three years anterior to the institution of the suit and for the period between the institution of the suit and the recovery of possession of the land by the Plaintiffs decree-holders. [...] The lower Appelate Court decided that the Plaintiff was entitlel to the crop and to mesne profits up to the dat of the decision of the first Court.
