He stated his case to them in answer to the case put before the Chamber by the Respondents and the dispute was—;1) whether a portion of the claim was; or was not outside the scope of the contract ; (2) about the rate and the date of the breach. [...] (Respondents) which was of a similar nature His Lordship held that as the Petitioner had not said that he was not aware of the rules of the Chamber and as his petition rather indicated that he knew them and as also he had not taken notice of any of the notices sent to him by the Registrar of the Chamber namely about the Court having been constituted and that in the event of his not submitting [...] The sellers were the first to ask the buyers to refer the matter to the Chamber who apparently then demurred but finally the buyers asked for the Arbitration of the Chamber. [...] The Resolu ion of the Bengal Government on the Report on the Administra ion of the Jail Department in the B-ngal Presidency for the year 1913 which appears in the current Calcutta Gazette possesses special interest by reason of its Ib3"cixiv THE CALCUTTA WHEKLY NOTP.05. [...] The conclusions that appear to flow from the foregoing are the following :- (I) That the law by virtue of which the property of a deceased Hindu vests in exectors or administrators.and in consequence of which they become the only representatives of the deceased person to the exclusion of his lawful heir (according to Hindu Law) materially modifies the Hindu Law of succession and inheritance.-
