According to English law if the river is a navigable river the right of the public to use the river for purposes of navigation would continue in the new channel but the grantee's fishery rights which are part and parcel of the freehold in the bed terminates to the extent to which the river has shifted on to the land of a riparian owner. [...] In an appeal preferred by the Local Covernment against an order of acquittal a preliminary objection to the hearing of the appeal was taken on behalf of the accused on the ground that there was no legally consttuted High Court in the North-Western Provinces the appointment of a sixth Judge to that Court being ultra wires. [...] The Police reported that there was a likelihood of a breach of the peace between some of the servants of a lady who was the proprietor of a market and another person who had been appointed Chaudhuri of the market about the collection of certain dues. C were drawn up and the Magistrate made an order to the effect that the Chaudhuri was in possession of the market dues in his capacity as Chaudhuri and the servants of the prprietor should not disturb his possession unless he was evicted therefrom in due course of law.
