we are all aware that the aforesaid rules have been published under the authrity of the Hon'ble High Court of Calcutta and that the District of Darjeeling being under the jurisdiction of that Hon'ble Court the said rules as well necessarily apply there and there cannot be any exception to the general rule. [...] The Secretary of State for India ins:itued a suit against an ward of the Court of Wards and the Court of Wards appointed a Board of guardians for the purpose of dfending the suit under sec. [...] 52 of the Court of Wards Act authoriser the Court of Wards if it so likes to direct that instead of the manager of the estate acting 55"hi THE CALCUTTA WEEKLY NOTES. [...] as the guardian ad liters' of the minor the guardian shall be such person whom the Court of Wards may appoint in that behalf and when this appointment is made and communicated to the Civil Court it is the duty of that Court to substitute the name of the man so appointed in place of the name of the manager. [...] The power of appointing a guardian in place of the manager is a power which can be exercised successively from time to time as occassion arises and the Court of Wards has full power to appoint one guardian in place of another whenever a vacancy occurs from whatever cause and once such an apointment has been made and communicated to the Civil Court it is the duty of that Court to substitute the
