We congratulate our fellow subjects of the historic province of the Punjab the fellow members of the profession and the Hon’ble the Chief Justice and his brother Judges on the elevation of this premier Chief Court in India to the status of a High Court. [...] The Chief Justice on the occasion of the opening ceremony paid a well-deserved and fitting tribute to the Punjab Bar and with him we hope that the Bench and the Bar woring in co-operation will prove a source of strength to the judicial administration in the province. [...] Voicing the sentiments of the progresive section of the Indian community the late Gokhale urged on the Government of India the necessity for the introduction of such edcation for the material advancement of the people of India and though he failed to carry his measure through the.Legislative Council yet. [...] In addition to the finger ithpressions the study of the lines (which again must not be mistaken for the wrinkles) and ridges on the palms of the hand and on the soles of the foot furnishes similar inforations. [...] One the largest is situated at the root of the thumb called anatomically the thenar eminence another a smaller one at the root of the little finger called the hypothenar eminence and three small ones situated at the intervals between the little and ring the ring and middle and the middle and index fingers.
