The rrra tter has been jointly investigated by the Director of Surveys Bengal arid the Registrar of the High Court on the Original Side and the modification proposed by them in the boundaries of the town of Calcutta which are embodied in the Schedule annexed to the Bill have the effect of slightly varying the existing thrifts and thus affecting the jurisdiction of the High Court. [...] Amongst the appreciative acknowledgments cotained in it we find the following with regard to the review of the Indian Legislation : “ The present writer may be permitted to exrre%his personal gratitude to the secretary to the Goy ernment of India in the Legislative Department` for having relieved him from the task of summarising the legislation of British India.
