The only difference between First and Second Appeals is that in the case of the former the transcripts go to the press while in the case of the latter they will go to the typist's machine. [...] Under the new rules the responsibility of preparing the Paper-Book is thrown on the Advocate for the Appellant and it is laid down that if at the time of the preliminary hearing the Court directs that the pleadings or any docments other than those mentioned in Rule 56 Chapter IX should be included in the Paper-Book the Appellant shall include in the Paper-Book such pleadings or documents or [...] The Lord Chief Justice was 51 at the time of appointment; and 67 on the 1st; the average of the 17 other Judges of the King's Bench Division was 53.6 at appointment; and 60.2 on the 1st of. [...] Taking; all the 27 Judges together the average at the time of their appointment was 53.3; and if we include the Lord Chancellor the Lord Chief Justice and the President the average bcomes 53.5; while on the 1st of January 1988 the respective averages were 59.6 and 60.0 years. [...] The Chief Court of Oudh could not pass an order of stay of a case pending in the Court of the Insolvency Judge at Cawnpore unless the direction of the Chief Court was confirmed by the Allahabad High Court.
