The news of the passing away of Lord Brabourne was received in the High Court when some of the Benches had just con-ienced work and some of the Benches had not sat. [...] The Hon'ble Judges and the mebers of the legal profession soon after assembled in the Chief Justice's Court and fee:ing references were made by His Lorship the Chief Justice and the representtives of the legal profession to the sad and premature death of the Governor who had come to Bengal with a distinguished record of military and administrative services and had endeared himself to the [...] When I met him last about six weeks ago one of the things he told me was that the cause of the youth of Bengal was nearest to his heart and that he would do all he could to amelorate the condition of the youth in Bengal That I think was characteristic of the man In his high postion he did not forget that it was the youth of the prvince that made the future nation and that in the we [...] The reason for the above examination of 1 he provisions of the Act is that cases have come toour notice in which an applicant before the Board was adjudged a debtor and the decision was upheld by the Appellate Officer and thereafter the creditor moved the Joint Secretary of the Rural Reconstruction Department who referred the matter to the District Magistrate for enquiry and report. [...] and in the end the Appellate Officer notified the debtor that in the ends of justice it was considered expedient to review the order passed.
