1915

The transplanting of rice seedlings was begun on the 25th of Juno and ended in the 3rd week of July. [...] Till the 8th of October again there was no rain but the heavy rains on the 9th and 10th of October helped the late varieties of rice. [...] In the fitfh series the seeds of green manuring crops were sown and irrigated in order to start them on their growth before the commencement of the monsoon and the plants were uprooted and transferred early in July to pbts which were afterwards transplanted with rice. [...] Except in the case of mohra refuse there has been no increase in the outturn of paddy as a result of the application of manure. [...] The object in view in varying the distance between the holes was to transplant the same number of seedlings on each unit area.
