Though the strength of the class at the beginning was only 7 the number increased to 13 by August which was maintained till the end of the course at the end of March. [...] The preparation of a subject schedule for indexing the literature on soil and soil problems the grouping of various publications under related subjects for being bound the listing and indexing of 4 380 old volumes the addition of nearly 11 000 index cards and the accessioning of 1;130 bound volumes were some of the activities of the library. [...] Teaching and Research.—The inauguration of the short courses in Farm Management has necessitated the detailing of one of the Assistant Lecturers in Agriculture entirely for the class with the result that the practical work for all the three B. Sc. [...] The activated sludge plant continued to be under the supeviSion of the Agricultural Bacteriologist but under the orders of the Director of Agriculture the Sanitary Inspector was given training so that he could run the plant independently if and when the plant is transferred to the Principal. [...] In the experimental plots it was found that the yield of the second generation was better than that of the third while the yield of the latter was better than that of the first genration.
