Besides the usual photographic work of the office and prints required by the Director General of Archaeology the two sets of photographs to accompany' this report were also prepared during the year under report. [...] However the work had to be abandoned owing to the numerous objections raised by the Za mindar's agent such as the payment of compensation to the owners of the land and the non-removal of valuable antiquities discovered etc. [...] The Superintendent of the Madras Museum was advised to acquire the lot on behalf of Government. [...] C. R. T Congreve of the Coimbatore district has reported the existence of a large ancient burial site at the foot of the Anamalai hills and he has very kindly offered to assist me with 000lie labour if I can find time to visit the site and open some of the tombs. [...] Panehamukha Hanuman on the pillar of the mandapa of Ekambareeve.ra temple.
