Annual Administration Report of the Northern india Salt Revenue Department for the Year 1936-37

During the year under report the Department participated in the Industrial and Agricultural exhibition held at Luck-now by the Government of the United Provinces and obtained a Silver Medal and certificate for good display of its products and demonstration of some of the processes involved in manufacturing them.2 The financial position which continued to be satisfactory is dicussed in more deta [...] But the rception of the salt in the markets has been good and with further reduction in the rates of freight made by the B. B. and C. I. and B. and N. W. Railways on this and Reshta salt it is hoped that there will be a great demand for the salt in the Bihar and Bengal markets. [...] 9. Stock balance and clearance of salt during the year — Uncleared balance of indents at the beginning of the year. Mds. [...] Water supply.—From the commencement of the year to the beginning of October 1936 the labour engaged on extraction and clearance of salt as well as the establishment were supplied with water brought in iron tanks from Balotra and Samdhari.
