1. The table below shows for each year since the Act came into force the total number of cases included in Statement I and the total amount of compensation paid. [...] The fall in the number of cases handled by the Association was consistent with the general fall in the number of contested applications from Ahmeabad. [...] The percentage of contested cases to the total number of cases disposed of by Commissioners was 61 as compared with 55.8 in the previous year. [...] Of these 22 were disposed of and 18 were pening at the close of the year.3 6. There were 3 cases of compensation for lead poisoning (2 in Delhi and 1 in Bihar). [...] 7. During the year a number of amendments were made in the Act with a view to removing certain defects and difficulties which had been brought to light by the rulings of the High Courts or by experience of the working of the Act.
