In accordance with the decision of the Research Committee at its 6th meeting in July 1936 and approved by the Central Board in November 1936 an informal meeting of Research Officers was held in Lahore from the 18th to the 2'ith February 1937 at the time of the annual meeting of the Punjab Engineering Congress. [...] Particular interest was raised by the experments on the model of the Panjnad Weir and the various investigations in connection with flow of water through permeable foundations and also on the model of the river upstream of the Islam Weir which were being conducted with the object of getting straight flow between the guide banks in order to prevent shoaling up of the approaches and to keep the [...] The discharge of the river above Madhopur and the rainfall data for Dahousie were studied separately and jointly to discover the effect if any during the last 35 years of the alleged denudation of the foothills on the changes in the sumer and winter supplies. [...] The following subjects were under examination :- (1) The effect of the river discharge on the quantity of silt entering the bays of the Head Regulator..:..(2) Shingle entry into the bays of the canal regulator at various river dicharges.
