The most important was the general deficiency of rainfall in August in several parts of the Presidency which caused some anxiety for a time but the rain in September and October was both sufficient and seasonable and the rainfall of the year considered as a whole was favourable. [...] Tables and Diagrams.—The mean monthly values of the several meteorological elements for each of the five stations Karachi Deesa Bombay Poona and Belgaum and the deviations of these values from those of the normal are given in Tables 1 to 7. The deviations are represented by figures 1 to 35 in Plate I which show the special features of the meteorology of the year. [...] At Belgaum the temperature was below the normal in all the months of the year the deficiency in January being very large. [...] of the average rainfall the fall of the month exceeded or fell short of the normal quantity. [...] The total percentage rainfall for the year was above the average in all the districts of the Bombay Presidency except Sind and though the rainfall was 6 per cent.
