Manuk on the Patna School of Painting in the 19th century in which he has dealt mainly with the work of the last of the important painters of the Patna School Mr. [...] Among the non-official parties and persons assembled are mentioned the Odras the Malavas the Khaths the Kulikas the Karnnatas the Hilnas the Chatas and Bhatas (village officers and dependants) the Brdhmanottaras the Mahattaras the Autumbas the Purogas the Medas the Andhrakas down to the Chanddlas. [...] Lastly there is the inscription of the ascetic named Vipula-gri-Mitra who erected at Nalanda a monastery which was an ornament of the world surpassing the palace of Indra." The inscription may be taken to be of the first half of the twelfth century. [...] This probably refers to the Sangha of the Samavdrika-Mikshus placed in charge of the administration of the Sattras or alms houses of the University. [...] At the site of Nalanda was also situated another famous University mentioned in the inscription as Uddandpura Budhisatvagama-Mahavihara the University of the sect of the Budhisatvagamas situated at the city (tura) of Uddatidapura.
