I agree that "it would be useful to deal with some of the more important of these notions before the reader is introduced to the notion of dharma as explained in the Bhägavata-Purana."2' But though useful by itself we do not quite see how in the present context of the Bhägavata-dharma a history of the evolution of dharma as laid down in Mimarnsa school and the Smrtis could be relevant. [...] That is why "Medh5tithi (9th century) definitely ruled out the Palicardtra and the Pagupata systems as heretical and therefore invalid for inculcating the nature of dharma."26 So except for the sake of revealing the contrast the history of smärta version of dharma cannot claim relevancy and then also the history should not have exceeded so far the bulk of the main theme under consideration. [...] This worship involves the knowledge of the absolute as a natural consequence of the realisation of the worshipfulness of the spirit and naturally leads to supreme bliss."3 ° This is the concept of dharma as the Prof. [...] From "the natural condition of the spirit" it is only one step further in the process of assumption to reach the "realisation of the true nature of the spirit."
