In place of the Quinquennial Review a series of Bulletins on Economic Minerals is being published as Volume LXXVI and to distinguish this from the normal issue the latter is being issued in the form of Professional Papers as will be seen below : meanwhile the Annual Report and Review of the Indian Mineral Industry will be published regularly and separately as part of the Records. [...] In most American work involving the construction of shallow tunnels geological opinion is suppkinented by information"Noture eological Adotee obtained from trial boring.' Boring may be out of the question over the greater part of the alignments of the Junrna Scheme on account of the depths involved. [...] Widge the intake to the tunnel is to be at the confluence of the Phagar ka Khala (Kinle ka Khala on the 4"=1 mile map) with the Giri river. [...] This direction will be from 50° to 70° divergent from the direction of dip of the Mann and of the northern part of the Subathu 0 verbreak formation. [...] The direction of the tunnel will also be 0° to 30' divergent from the dips of the Nahan series.
