1938

The first part deaing with the Bionomics of Apanteles machaeralis was carried out in the laboratories of the Forest Entomolgist Forest Research Institute and College Debra Dun and the second part was completed in the laboratories of the Department of Zoology University of Allahabad. [...] The egg hatches inside the body of the host where two instars of the parasite are passed ; the third instar of the parasite bores out of the host and forms cocoon outside. [...] As the cytoplasm and its contents flow down from the nurse cell into the oocyte all the inclusions of the latter are apparently pushed to the periphery (Figs. [...] In Apanteles machaeralis the nurse cells are quite separate from the oocyte in the beginning and later nurse cells establish continuity with the oocyte by disolving the intervening follicle cells and the membrane. [...] In Apanteles machaeralis the present author has found that fatty yolk is directly formed by the Golgi bodies and suggests that cytoplasm of the egg is the medium which helps the chromophilic rim of the Golgi body in elaborating yolk in the chromo-"00CENESIS OF APANTELES MACHAERALIS WLK.
