[...] On the whole in the absence of fossils it is ()sly possible to form a conjecture as to the affinities of these upper rotilts but the balance of evidence seems to Ewer the view that while at least aportion of them may not improbably along to the same age i. e. Kamthi as the rocks of the Hingir group in the adjoining field th2 remainder mg represent a ggoup of the upper tlondwanas. [...] In the lest of these in the Japon lifer at Doarpur and in the Pairi liver near Nangabahar the quartzites are seen at the level othe bed of the river 'resting directly on the denuded and iqpgular surfacegf the granitic gneiss. [...] bilkeirelatter section the quartzite boundary has in the bed of the river been cat back for several hundred yards and the greanite is seen both on the banks and at the base if a wateribll 20 feet high underling the wartzites the lowest beds of which fill up the iequaiities of the surface of the granite. [...] In the internal valley of the Girna River to the south-west of Tarnot we find dipping under the cftiartzites of the plateau a group of shales having an extraordinary resemblance to Taldhirs and showing an amount of wlisturbance which is not shawl in by the quartzites of the surrounding ranges.
