One of these which has a bearing on the explanation of the structure and dynamics of our foreign trade is whether the remarkable development of India's foreign trade in the last century and particularly the active merchandise balance of trade which has been a normal feature of her foreign trade are symptoms of national privation rather than of national prosperity. [...] On the other hand it is also a fact that the European agrcultural countries have increased the production and export of cereals and meat at the expense of the agricultural countries of the Asiatic continent during the last decade. [...] A world revolution destroying the existing structure of society and setting up the dictatoship of the proletariat the abolition of poverty and unemployment the disappearance of the colonial system the emergence of a class-less society a federation of human beings who are provided with the opportunity for work and the necessities of life place before our eyes the picture of a worlorder w [...] The average production of some of the important raw materials subjected to processes of transformation is here represented by percentages calculated for the three-year period 19z7-29 according to the statistics contained in the Statistical Year-Book of the League of Nations 1932-33. [...] The percentages themselves are only approximate as in the sources the totals of the production of the world and of the continents are given in round figures and sometimes even in provisional or estimated figures.
