The excellent character of this new Journal and the high standard of articles published in it and the enterprise and devotion of the group of the Bengali scholars seem to make Indian Culture rightly and completely fill the great void created by the unfortunate discontinuance of the great epoch-making Journal the Indian Antiquary. [...] The niistikavc7da is taken to mean the denial of manly energy the existence of heaven and hell and the possibility of reward and retribution and the like. [...] It goes by the name of theft stealing other people's property seeking gain from the belonings of others greed for the wealth of others cupidity thieving spoiling the hand with the ugliness of the act and the like. [...] The first principle of non-harming is praised as the island the refuge the destination the basis and nirvana to the worlds of men gods and demons. [...] Instability of political atmosphere in the country in the absence of a paramount sovereign for the whole of Northern India helped the growth of a number of ruling dynasties a fact which greatly cotributed to the importance of the Kula or family.
