[...] In India the variations in the areas sown are hardly less considerable than the variations in the yield per acre and that both are important is shown by the following figures for the area and yield of wheat for the Punjab for the 24 years 1899-1922. [...] SUMMARY To sum sip the variation in the out-turn of crops in India is a dual problem of the variation of the areas sown to each class of crop and the yield of these crops per unit of area.
