This statement implies that the free product II is determined independent of the choice of the generators of the groups (1) as the composition of those reduced words depends on the laws of compsition in the groups (1) only and is independent of the manner in which they are represented by generators. [...] To cut out of A a sequence B of s-digits (not necessarily consecutive the order of occurrance of the digits in the sequence being the same as in A) the first element of B being the first element of A we can proceed in (As+n-1 different ways. [...] The object of the present paper is to regard Chazy's equivalent as the law of attraction between two particles and consider the effect of these corrections on the rotation of orbits on the deflection of light and on the spectral shift of solar light. [...] In the problem of finding the attraction due to a spherical shell of radius r and thickness dr on a moving point the terms involving squares or higher powers of the masses will have no effect on the total result as the square of the mass involves the square of the infintesimal in integrat ion. [...] (1.4) 11 Let dM be the mass of the spherical shell q the velocity of the particle Pi of mass ltt' relative to an element P on the shell and r s and R the radius of the shell the distance PP' and the distance PI from 0 the centre of the shell respectively.
