[...] The rivers are the Godaveri the Kistna the Tunghabadra the Puma the Peinganga the Nlanjjra the Bhima the Maner the Musi the Windi the Munair and some other smaller streams. [...] The Nizam was the British tiolly in crushing the Mahrattas and Pindarees and during the struggle with Ryder and Tippu and through the critical years of the Mutiny the Nizam has been consistently loyal to the British in India. [...] The Contingent was in the year following the treaty made an integral part of the Indian Army and the administration of the Berars tract is now under the Chief Commissioner of the Central Provinces.
