Further the provision in the Government of India Budget 1936-37 towards the cost of the buildings for the headquarters of the province amounting to Rs. [...] The reason given is that Madras benefits immediately to the extent of 20 lakhs through the separation of Ganjam district and Bombay likewise benefits to the extent of 90 lakhs through the separation of Sind and on the merits of the case the Punjab benefited long ago when its deficit districts of the frontier were constituted into a separate province. [...] During the time of the Moguls the house of Jugat Seth virtually came to occupy the position of the Rothschilds in India in banking which position they were also able to maintain during the early days of the advent of the British in this country. [...] It came to fill the void created by the failure of some of the chief Agency Houses of the time and also came to occupy a leading position in the money market almost challenging the prestige of the Bank of Bengal. [...] Japan considers herself as the standard bearer of the idea of Pan-Asianism the heroic redeemer of the down-trodden undedog the symbol of all that is best and noblest in the East.
