[...] RESERVATION OF COASTAL TRADE I was however extremely distressed to read in the papers the other day the answer given by Earl Winterton in reply to a question in the House of Commons that the Government of India were opposed to the recommendations of the Mercantile Marine Committee regarding the reservation of the Indian Coasting Trade to Indian Shipping. [...] Such a decision only cofirms the opinion to which the thoughtful Indian public is reluctantly driven that the interests of the rulers and the ruled in this country are not identical and that the foreigner is allowed an economic domination and eploitation of this country to the continuous detriment of the larger economic life of the nation.
