On the one hand there were the trials and sufferings of the German occuption; on the other the immense assistance given by the Italian clergy from the Pope downwards to the Italian patriots who were fighting the Nazi tyrants at heroic cost. [...] The headquarters of the Partisan army was in the convent of the Annunciation in Milan and on the morrow of liberation a a letter of thanks was sent to the Mother Superior by General Cadorna the Partisan Commander in Chief. [...] The key position held by the Christian Democrats in the Assembly the assent which many of their principles receive from other parties and a deepening of the Chritian sense in the hearts of the people at large give good hope that the Party's desire for a Christian constitution worthy of a Christian people will find realization. [...] Beginning with a study of the nature and scope of the entire problem successive Phases of the project have been Planned to develop test and publicize the effectiveness of the new methods. [...] Was not communal tension to abate most particularly in Bengal which the killings at Calcutta and in the eastern districts had paralysed ?
