Such an amendment is well in keeping with the preamble of the United Nations Charter which sets out as one of the ojects of the Organisation 'to reaffirm faith in the fundmental human rights in the dignity and worth of the human person in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small'. [...] For beside the law of the constitution there are the laws made by the legislature of the Federal Government there are the laws of the several legislatures of the several units of the Federation. [...] The laws made by the legislatures must conform to the Law of the Constitution of the Federation. [...] The appellate jurisdiction of the Federal Court according to the Government of India Act 'extends to any judgment decree or final order of a High court in British India if the High Court certifies that the case involves a substantial question of law or the interpretation of the Act (the Goverment of India Act of 1935) or any Order in Council made thereunder' and it was to be the duty of ever [...] The way to oust the jurisdiction of the Privy Council is to oust it is to abolish the right of appeal to it from the High Courts of India.
