As a citizen of Allahabad and one deeply interested in the secondary education of the Province I extend to you a hearty welcome to this Ancient City of Prayag where the two life-giving streams of the Province the Ganges and the Jamuna mix with the third Saraswati (goddess of learning) for the material and intellectual good of the people of this Province. [...] Throughout the school stage the film the stage and the museum can be used to accelerate and round off the process of learning and to make it more interesting One of the urgent needs of Indian schooling is enricment by the trial of new methods like the Dalton Plan the Project Method and the Howard Plan. [...] In partial modification of the procedure however it may be supgested that the tribunal should consist of L a nominee of the Managing Committee concerned (2) a ncminee of the teacher concerned who may if he likes delegwe the power of nomination to the Executive Committee of the U. P. Secondary Education and 3) a nominee of the D.rector of Pubic Instruction who shall not be an official of the [...] 4. That in the interest of efficient education on modern and uptodate lines this Confererce views with alarm the policy of the Education Deparment in its insistence on the reduction of the staff of Schools without.reducing the amount of work to be done by the teacher ; and requeSts the Education Department to concede the principle that the Time Table should provide sufficient leisure for corre [...] This Conference revests the Education Department to pay higher interest on the teacher's provident fund money in view of the facts (1 that the money deposited in the Provident Fund is of the nature of fixed derosit to remain in the hands of the Government for a sufficiently long period and 'Ill that the Government allows a higher rate of interest on the Provident Fund of Government servants.
