What are these aims ? Below are given some of the aims the teacher has to bear in mind at every stage of the activity and at the final stage judging the results in terms of the fulfilment of these aims and not in terms of the formalities observed. The peculiar anatomical structure of the thumb of Monkey and Man distinguishes the two from other races. [...] There is complete freedom for the development of the natural abilities and the individualities of all children." Froebel was the third of the important pioneer supporters of the movement. [...] He is the exponent of the culture-epoch-theory and has brought home to the educationists the specific importance of the different stages of development of children.
