We were glad to see by the letter of 7th instant from the Secretary of the Bengal Government to the Counniesialer of the Patna Division that the adjustment of the rent law in Behar which for a long time past has been the subject of correspondence between the Lieutenant-Governor and the local officials is now put to the consideration of a Committee. [...] The terms of the letter from the Secretary of the Government of India to the Government of Bengal Madras and Bombay upon the Sea Customs Act VIII. [...] It would not of come do when closing the Muhl to raise the prior of Council &atti soddenly to !Alas It would be necessary fur the Secretary of Mate limier the advice of a syndicate of bankers to announce publicly the slope by which the price of the Bills would he raised to the I Exeleinge rate of Is. [...] Jam lies on the frontier of Bukhara 'bout half-way between Cbarjui to the west and the mivalley of the Kizil Su to the east ; both of which latter are in the territory of the Emir. [...] Fox and a small pot tion of the Whig party welcomed the pence lint by Lord Grenville and the majority of the Opposition it was utterly condemned ; and they were almost the only part of the nation which discerned at the outset the iusincere character of the (so-called) peace.
